This year is the 48th Season of Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity, in NYC’s famous Lincoln Square neighborhood! Bach Vespers is steeped in the rich Lutheran musical tradition and this season is invigorated by the fullest and most expanded concert offerings to date! Named “New York’s Temple to Bach” (New York Times) and noted for its “valuable” contribution to the city’s arts community, Bach Vespers is one of New York’s most cherished cultural organizations.
Bach’s music takes on new life and renewed purpose inside Holy Trinity as it is accompanied by solemn processions, mystical chant, ancient texts, and sacred architecture—the setting for which Bach was writing. In the world of historical performance practice, it doesn’t get any more accurate. Simply put: they do Bach on Bach’s terms.
