The Gentlemen Carolers is a professional vocal ensemble which has been performing at public and private events of all kinds for over 30 years. Founded in 1981 by Carson Church and Tim Isbell, they have achieved an excellent reputation for the quality and diversity of their a cappella repertoire.
Best known for their Holiday caroling, The Gentlemen Carolers capture the unmistakable and compelling sound of men’s 4-part harmony. Presentations range from medieval or traditional 19th-century carols, to complex jazz treatments of contemporary holiday favorites, to full-bodied barbershop arrangements, always interacting with their audience, taking requests, and occasionally improvising on the spot.
In past seasons, The Gentlemen Carolers have appeared as the “Punchline Quartet” on the Conan O’Brien Show, won a live on-air audition on the Howard Stern Show to become the Howard Stern Carolers, and were featured on FOX television for the “Holidaze” series of Christmas carols that promoted The Simpsons, Beverly Hills 90210 and Ally McBeal. Other credits include an on-camera TV spot for the London Observer’s Music Magazine, regular appearances on the Rambling With Gambling radio show on WOR in New York, and an award-winning radio jingle for Ciba-Geigy.
