Singer / Songwriter Annika may only be sixteen years old, but she has already written scores of songs and performed extensively throughout the greater New York region. She’ll bring her fresh, original sound to Winter’s Eve performing inside of Lincoln Square’s Century 21 Department Store.
Annika has played with indie-rock band Still Saffire since 2009 at venues including Lincoln Center, The Knitting Factory, The Great South Bay Music Festival, NYU, Columbia University, The Turning Point, and The Living Room. As of September 2013, Annika began performing solo, playing at Birdland, The Bitter End and other venues on a regular basis. In March 2014, Annika`s performance of her song Fallout won radio WNYC`s Battle of the Boroughs for Queens. She competed against the other four borough winners on June 27th, and won AUDIENCE FAVORITE for the five boroughs.
Annika is currently a member of Real Women Real Songs, a group of 22 women who each write one song per week based on a given prompt, for the entirety of 2014. That’s 52 more songs from Annika by the end of this year!
