Born and bred in the city of New York, the Lucky Chops Brass Band has been making audiences dance with a blend of funk, gospel, jazz, rock, and world music since 2006. The Chops’ infectious energy and high caliber musicianship has made them one of the busiest and most sought after brass bands in NYC. The Chops were a big hit at the Lincoln Square BID’s Free Lunchtime Concert Series, and they are back for Winter’s Eve to get people moving again at Richard Tucker Park.
In addition to public concerts, the band maintains an active schedule performing at private events and parties in NYC and abroad. The band’s musical versatility has led them to perform in a wide variety of settings including traditional Indian weddings, German Oktoberfests, New Orleans-style second line parades, Bar Mitzvahs, and even the NYC subway system as part of the MTA’s Make Music New York program. The Chops have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine and The Gothamist.
